Taiwan earthquake: Baby found as search for survivors continues

Rescue teams are continuing to search for survivors after powerful earthquake in Taiwan caused several buildings to collapse, trapping hundreds of residents.

At least 38 people are known to have died and more than 100 people are still missing after the 6.4 magnitude quake which struck on Saturday morning.

Most of the victims, including a 10-day-old baby, were found at a 17-storey building where rescuers are concentrating their efforts in the southern city of Tainan.

Reports: Four buildings collapsed after Taiwan quake

At least four buildings collapsed and several others have been left partially damaged after a strong earthquake struck Taiwan in the early hours of Saturday morning, reports the Central News Agency.

Rescuers are still pulling people from the rubble of high rise buildings and at least two people are known to have died.
