Homes evacuated as river bursts its banks after heavy rain causes flooding in Scotland

Scores of homes have been evacuated in Aberdeenshire after the River Don burst its banks and the River Ythan threatened to overflow, while people in an area of Aberdeen were advised to leave their properties.

Roads have been closed and trains and flights cancelled in Aberdeen and across the surrounding region as water levels reached record highs.

Storm Frank leaves Scottish flood victims isolated

The aftermath of flooding after last week's Storm Frank hit the UK has left Scottish flood victims isolated, without power and fearing further floods.

In Braemar near the Queen's Balmoral estate residents now face a 120 mile round trip to get in or out after flood damage cut off one of only two bridges giving access to the village.
