Two different Islamist groups claim responsibility for Mali attack

Two different Islamist jihadi groups have said they were behind massacre at a hotel in Mali.

President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta said 19 people were killed and a further seven injured after militants seized 170 hostages at the Radisson Blu in Bamako.

Two Islamist militants were also killed.

Mali hotel attack 'a joint operation'

Islamist militant group al Mourabitoun has reportedly claimed joint responsibility for the attack on a hotel in the Malian capital.

According to neighbouring nation Mauritania's Alakhbar news agency al Mourabitoun have said they were behind teh attack along with al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb
