FCO advise against 'all but essential' travel by air to Sharm

The UK government is advising against all but essential travel by air to Sharm el-Sheik airport, Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has said.

However, he said, the advice on overall risk in the region has not changed

He said people already in Sharm would be able to return to the UK, and said the government and security forces were working with their counterparts in Egypt to put into place "emergency procedures" for additional screening and security measures to ensure they will be able to get home either on their original scheduled return dates, or an earlier date if they wish.

It comes as he confirmed there was a "significant possibility" that the crash was caused by an "explosive device".
