ITV News witnesses refugee boats arriving at RAF base in Cyprus

ITV News cameras have seen two boats carrying 114 refugees land on UK sovereign soil for the first time, at the RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus.

ITV News Correspondent Emma Murphy, who is the only television journalist at the scene, said the base went into lockdown when the boats arrived.

A deal with Cyprus means that refugees cannot seek asylum in the UK despite landing on the British sovereign soil.
