Oscar Pistorius has been released from prison under correctional supervision on Monday, a day earlier than expected.
The 28-year-old has served just under a year of a five-year sentence for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.
Paralympian Oscar Pistorius could still face a lengthy prison term if an appeal against him by South African prosecutors is successful.
The appeal, filed in August, seeks to upgrade Pistorius' conviction from culpable homicide to the more serious charge of murder.
If it succeeds at a hearing next month, the 28-year-old athlete could face a sentence of at least 15 years.
At present, Pistorius is scheduled to serve correctional supervision - a form of house arrest - for four years exactly as of his release from prison on Tuesday.
