Stars turn out to support Pride of Britain awards

David Beckham, the Prince of Wales and David Cameron are among a host of celebrities and public figures lending their support to a ceremony recognising some of Britain's bravest people.

This year's Pride of Britain awards, to be held in central London tonight, will recognise British aid workers who risked their lives to save thousands of Ebola victims and emergency medics who scaled a rollercoaster to rescue the victims of the Alton Towers crash.

Eight-year-old Pride of Britain winner steals the show

Eight-year-old Bailey Matthews stole the show at this year's Pride of Britain awards, telling the audience to "Be More Bailey" in his acceptance speech.

Bailey was among a host of heroes recognised at the awards ceremony in central London tonight, along with British aid workers who risked their lives to save thousands of Ebola victims and emergency medics who scaled a rollercoaster to rescue the victims of the Alton Towers crash.

The awards will be broadcast on ITV on Thursday at 8pm.
