At least 20 dead after tropical storm strikes Caribbean
At least 20 people have died after a huge tropical storm left a trail of destruction through the Dominican Republic.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said the island had been set back 20 years by Tropical Storm Erika, which destroyed hundreds of homes, bridges and roads.
An elderly blind man and two children were killed when a mudslide engulfed their home in the southeast of Dominica, while another man was found dead in Santo Domingo following a mudslide at his home.
The storm began to lose steam on Friday and was expected to be weakened further as it moved towards high mountains on the island of Hispaniola.
