3,000 post offices now open on Sundays
The number of post offices open on Sundays has reached 3,000 as the firm tries to keep up with changing demands, new figures show.
The milestone figure was reached when the Bergh Apton branch in Norfolk opened its doors - offering a garden centre, farm shop and restaurant as well as traditional postal services.
Figures from The Post Office show the earliest branch opening time was 3.30am, while other branches close as late as midnight.
Three branches are open 24 hours a day.
