Robert Willis, Cilla Black's son, paid tribute to her and gave a reading at the service.
He told the congregation his mother was a "wonderful lady" who "brought joy and laughter to so many of us".
"She was indeed a daughter of Liverpool. Now the circle is complete," said Mr Willis.
He then read a poem by Henry Scott Holland.
Sir Tom Jones paid tribute to his friend Cilla Black saying her 'common touch' kept her in the hearts of the British public.
Throughout her career the much-loved entertainer from 'Scottie Road' never lost touch with her roots.
