Police release CCTV footage after Ferguson shooting anniversary violence

Police in America have released CCTV footage which they say shows a teenager pulling a gun from his waistband shortly before he was shot by officers.

A state of emergency was declared in St. Louis County in the US following violence in the town of Ferguson during events to mark a year since the police shooting of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.

Tyrone Harris, who was shot by police during Sunday's memorial, has been charged with four counts of assault. Police said the CCTV shows him with a gun.

Heavy gunfire reported at memorial for Ferguson teen

Heavy gunfire has been reported at a memorial marking a year since black teenager Michael Brown was shot by a white police officer.

St Louis County PD tweeted the shooting was at officer and that two unmarked police cars had been hit. It added: "We will release further details when available."

Earlier in the day around six shots were reportedly fired but it was unclear if anyone was injured.
