Calais migrant crisis: UK-French centre to tackle traffickers

The UK and France have announced new measures to prevent "undocumented migrants" entering the Channel Tunnel by tackling the criminals who smuggle them to Calais and across the Channel.

The plans include the creation of a joint police operation aimed at tackling the people-smugglers who profit from the desperation of those trying to reach British shores.

French police: We're completely outnumbered by migrants

Up to 100 migrants clashed with police in Calais tonight as they tried to break through police lines at a petrol station close to the Eurotunnel.

Officers formed a cordon but could not prevent the men, women and children, mainly from East African and Arab countries, from bringing the road out of the tunnel in Coquelles to a standstill.

French police told ITV News they are "completely outnumbered" by migrants.
