Man found decapitated in France terror attack

A man has been decapitated during a suspected Islamist terrorist attack at a chemical factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier near Lyon, southeastern France.

Here is what we know so far:

  • The attack took place just before 10am local time when two suspects drove into the Air Products factory
  • The vehicle crashed the gate and plowed into gas canisters which caused an explosion
  • One man was found decapitated and two others were injured in the attack
  • Four people have been arrested

Hollande raises France terror threat level

President Francois Hollande has raised the security level in France to its highest possible point, following the terror attack near Lyon.

Hollande described the attack as "cowardly" and has promised that thousands of police officers will be deployed across France in order to improve security.
