A planned 24-hour strike by Network Rail workers from 5pm on Thursday and a 48-hour strike next week have been called off, said arbitration service Acas.

Network Rail chief executive Mark Carne has said he is hopeful a deal can be agreed with workers.
I am very pleased that the industrial action has been suspended. With Acas's help, we have had very constructive talks with the unions over the weekend and I hope they will be able to agree this deal.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
