Fifa's Sepp Blatter is victim of conspiracy, says daughter

The daughter of Fifa president Sepp Blatter has claimed her father is a victim of a conspiracy from "behind the scenes".

Blatter - who won a fifth term on Friday - has been under intense pressure to step down since senior Fifa officials were arrested on a string of corruption charges last week.

Meanwhile, Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has told ITV News "there would be no point" in the Football Association boycotting the World Cup unless a large number of countries considered taking the same step.

Uefa president reiterates his desire for change at Fifa

Uefa president Michel Platini reiterated his desire for change within Fifa as he congratulated Prince Ali Bin al Hussein for his "admirable campaign".

Platini, who said he had asked Blatter to resign as Fifa president before the election, said, "I am proud that Uefa has defended and supported a movement for change at Fifa, change which in my opinion is crucial if this organisation is to regain its credibility."

"I congratulate my friend Prince Ali for his admirable campaign and I take the opportunity to thank all the national associations who supported him."
