Stranded Norwegian Dawn cruise ship 'floated and moved'

The Norwegian Cruise Line ship that ran aground off the coast of Bermuda has been floated and moved to another location, the company has said.

The Norwegian Dawn, which has 2,675 passengers and 1,000 crew on board, was "moved to a nearby anchorage position where it will remain overnight".

The vessel temporarily lost power as it departed Kings Wharf in Bermuda before it ran aground, the company said.

Norwegian Cruise Line ship runs aground in Bermuda

A Norwegian Cruise Line ship that originated in Boston has run aground in Bermuda.

The vessel, called Norwegian Dawn, temporarily lost power as it departed Kings Wharf in Bermuda, the company said.

"The ship's propulsion was affected and, at which time, the vessel made contact with the channel bed," Norwegian Cruise Line said in a statement.

All guests and crew members are safe and there are no initial reports of injuries.

The ship, which is believed to have 2,675 passengers and 1,000 crew on board, now has full power, the firm added.
