Election 2015: Final hour of polling

After six weeks of campaigning there is just one hour left to cast your vote in the General Election.

Six weeks of campaigning officially come to an end today as the British public went to the polls in the General Election.

Polling stations open at 7am and close at 10pm, with the first results due to start coming in from around an hour before midnight.

Nick Clegg casts his vote in Sheffield

Nick Clegg and his wife Miriam cast their votes in Sheffield this morning - though not before the Liberal Democrat leader appeared to get locked out of the couple's car as he attempted to open the door for his wife.
