Thousands take part in biggest ever London Marathon

More than 38,000 runners, fundraisers and elite racers have lined up to take part in this year's London Marathon - making it the biggest in the event's history.

World record holder Paula Radcliffe, 41, completed her final competitive marathon, saying the "magic of the London Marathon" helped her through.

Ethiopian Tigist Tufa claims women's marathon title

Ethiopian Tigist Tufa has romped home to victory in the London Marathon with a time of 2:22:21, ahead of Kenyan Mary Keitany in 2:23:40.

Sonia Samuels was the first Brit to finish.
