Yemeni leader flees to Saudi as airstrikes continue

Yemen's President Adb-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has left his refuge in Aden for Saudi Arabia late last night as Houthi rebels continued their battle with his forces on the outskirts of the southern port city.

Saudi Arabia has launched air strikes against Houthi fighters in Yemen, with the support of the US and nine other countries.

"Saudi Arabia and our Arab partners deserve our support as they seek to restore order in Yemen, which has collapsed into civil war," Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham said in a statement.

Report: 'Dozens of Saudi and foreign diplomats evacuated'

An operation to evacuate dozens of Saudi and foreign diplomats from the southern Yemeni port city of Aden was launched by Saudi Arabia's navy, according to state television

"The Saudi Royal Navy implemented an operation called Hurricane to evacuate dozens of diplomats, including Saudis, from Aden," the broadcaster said.
