Nigel Farage has branded anti-Ukip protesters who allegedly invaded a pub where he was having a family lunch as "scum".
Mr Farage said his children were so terrified during the incident that they "ran away to hide".
Farage's political rival Nick Clegg waded into the row, saying protesters should "leave his wife and kids out of it".
A Ukip source has told ITV News that yesterday's pub protest against Nigel Farage was a "pretty frightening experience".
