Employers 'should be able to favour British workers'

Employers should be be able to discriminate in favour of British workers, Nigel Farage has said.

Following strong criticism of his comments from David Cameron and Ed Miliband, the Ukip leader said: "What the law doesn't do is protect British workers - both black and white - who find themselves now really struggling in the workplace.

"Employers should be able to employ British people over somebody from Poland without fearing they've breached discrimination laws.

"I'm not talking about abolishing race relations in this country, I'm talking about lightening employment legislation so small employers are less fearful of non-British workers."
