The Football Association are awaiting referee Anthony Taylor's match report before deciding whether to take action against Jonny Evans and Papiss Cissé over an alleged spitting incident.

Neither player was cautioned by Taylor during last night's Premier League match between Newcastle and Man United, despite both appearing to spit at each other during an unseemly flash point after 39 minutes.

It's unlikely Taylor spotted the incident because he decided against taking any action and, as such, both players can yet be punished by the FA retrospectively.
