Prosecutor calls for acquittal in Strauss-Kahn sex trial
A French prosecutor has asked a criminal court to acquit former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of a pimping charge.
Strauss-Kahn, 65, faced charges in France of aggravated pimping and involvement in a prostitution ring operating out of luxury hotels.
Strauss-Kahn says he took part in "libertine" activities but insists he never knew the women involved were sex workers.
Strauss-Kahn consistently maintained that he had not organised the parties himself - both of which would have to be proved for a conviction.
