Spurs force West Ham to block Cole West Brom deal
Former Chelsea striker Carlton Cole has been prevented from joining West Brom from Premier League rivals West Ham, because the Hammers were blocked from signing Emmanuel Adebayor by Spurs.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis had made it clear he wanted to bring a striker to the club, and highlighted Cole as one of his targets after missing out to Crystal Palace on Shola Ameobi.
But Spurs pulled the plug on West Ham's deal for Emmanuel Adebayor late one, forcing Sam Allardyce to keep hold of Cole.
The striker has scored two goals for West Ham in the Premier League this season, and will have to continue settling for a place on the bench there.
