Saudi blogger 'unfit' for flogging for second week in row
Doctors have recommended that Saudi Arabia postpones the flogging of blogger Raif Badawin on health grounds for the second week in a row, Amnesty International has said.
Mr Badawin, 31, has been sentenced to 1,000 lashes and 10 years in prison for cyber offences and insulting Islam.
But the wounds he suffered after the first 50 lashes are so severe that a health committee has said that the flogging should not be carried out.
Amnesty said Mr Badawi "is still at risk" as "there is no way of knowing whether the Saudi Arabian authorities will disregard the medical advice and allow the flogging to go ahead".
His treatment has sparked international condemnation, and a Foreign Office spokesperson told ITV News last week that they remain "seriously concerned" by the case.
