French comedian 'faces trial for condoning terrorism'

French comedian Dieudonne is to stand trial on a charge of condoning terrorism, a judicial source has told French news agency AFP.

The comedian - best known in Britain for his controversial "quenelle" gesture - was arrested this morning after a Facebook post apparently mixing the "Je suis Charlie" slogan with the name of the gunman who killed four at a Jewish supermarket last week.

French comedian Dieudonne is to stand trial on a charge of condoning terrorism, a judicial source has told Agence France-Presse.

Dieudonne - whose full name is Dieudonné M'bala M'bala - had been arrested earlier today after a Facebook post which said "I feel like Charlie Coulibaly" - a reference to the gunman that killed four at a Jewish supermarket on Friday.
