Remains of burned-out ferry docked and black box recovered

The charred remains of a ferry which caught fire in the Adriatic Sea, killing at least 11 people, have been brought in to harbour in Italy.

Prosecutors have now recovered the ship's black box and will examine its contents.

Italy's Coast Guard said 477 people were rescued and 11 people have been confirmed dead. An unknown number of people are still unaccounted for.

Two Albanian tugboat men die towing fire-stricken ferry

Two Albanian men have been killed after a cable connecting their tugboat to the fire-stricken ferry Norman Atlantic broke.

"One man died on the spot when one cable broke after it got stuck in the propeller," a port authority official in Vlore told Reuters this morning.

"The other died on board a few minutes ago when being assisted by a helicopter medical team," they added.
