Remains of burned-out ferry docked and black box recovered

The charred remains of a ferry which caught fire in the Adriatic Sea, killing at least 11 people, have been brought in to harbour in Italy.

Prosecutors have now recovered the ship's black box and will examine its contents.

Italy's Coast Guard said 477 people were rescued and 11 people have been confirmed dead. An unknown number of people are still unaccounted for.

Man died after falling into the sea during ferry rescue

ITV News understands that a man died during an attempted rescue from the Norman Atlantic ferry, which has been on fire since this morning.

The man and his wife tried to board the lifeboat and they slipped and fell into the sea.

The woman was found safe and rescued from the sea, but he was confirmed dead.
