France to deploy 300 extra troops after wave of attacks

France is deploying up to 300 extra soldiers to patrol busy urban areas following a string of attacks on people and police officers.

One person was killed and 30 injured in three attacks in as many days, which included two vehicles being driven into crowds in Dijon and Nantes, and a man stabbing three police officers in central France.

On two of the occasions the attackers reportedly shouted the words 'God is Great' in Arabic, although authorities are only treating one of the attacks as an act of terrorism.
