Former pirate radio DJ Ray Teret's abuse had "devastating consequences" for some of his victims, who were as young as 13, the chief crown prosecutor for the north west of England has said.
Speaking outside Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, Nazir Afzal said many of the girls abused grew up believing the abuse had been their fault.
"It was never their fault," Mr Afzal added, praising their "collective courage" which he said had "brought Teret to justice".
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
