Tributes have been paid to cricketer Phillip Hughes who has died, aged 25.

The Australian died two days after being struck on the head by a bouncer while batting for South Australia against New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

100,000 take part in #putoutyourbats tribute to Hughes

Around 100,000 people from around the world have taken part in an online tribute to cricketer Phil Hughes by sharing their images of a bat and cap placed as a mark of respect to the player.

Hughes, 25, died in hospital on Thursday, two days after suffering a fatal head injury when the was struck by a ball during a match in Sydney.
