Six war memorials across England are being given upgraded listing statuses to coincide with this year's Armistice day celebrations.
Four memorials have been given the highest possible Grade 1 listing, while two more have been upgraded to Grade 2*.
The memorials which have been chosen for upgraded listing status are the Guards Memorial, Horse Guards Parade, Westminster, the Birmingham Hall of Memory, The Response War Memorial in Newcastle, the Port Sunlight War Memorial in Wirral, the Lewes War Memorial, East Sussex, and The War Memorial in Norwich.
