Philippines remember Typhoon Haiyan devastation

Thousands of people in the Philippine city of Tacloban lit candles and launched sky lanterns to remember their loved ones one year after the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan.

Residents placed the candles along a main road and around their houses, offering silent prayers to their dead loved ones and those unaccounted for.

As twilight approached, hundreds joined a torch parade and watched sky lanterns being released near the coastline where the deadly storm surges made landfall.
