Berlin celebrating 25 years since the fall of the Wall

Celebrations to mark 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall have begun tonight with a stunning light display and a guest appearance from former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev.

The Russian-built wall to stop East Germans defecting to the West ran 97 miles and included 302 watchtowers until it fell in 1989.
