David Cameron and a number of other northern European leaders ate a main course of reindeer at a summit in Finland tonight as they discussed the future of the EU.

The menu for the Northern Future summit in Helsinki began with salted Arctic charr, which was followed by black trumpet soup.

Main course was roast fillet of reindeer, with a dessert of chilled sea buckthorn souffle accompanied by rosemary and chocolate sauce.

The Prime Minister was joined at the meal by premiers from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Iceland.
