Cameron calls on EU to double Ebola funding

David Cameron has called for EU leaders to double their funding in the fight against Ebola to £800 million.

It comes after one of the doctors who discovered the virus, Professor Peter Piot, said the rest of Europe was not doing enough to tackle the epidemic.

Downing Street said the current total contribution from the EU was just £400 million.

Texas nurse transported to Atlanta by air ambulance

Texas nurse Amber Vinson, who has contracted Ebola as a result of caring for a patient who died of the disease, has been transported from Texas to Atlanta for treatment.

The 29-year-old was filmed wearing a yellow hazmat suit as she was escorted onboard an air ambulance by medical workers in white protective clothing.

One man without protective clothing was seen speaking to the group before they boarded the plane.

US officials are in the process of contacting passengers on a commercial flight Vinson took last week from Cleveland to Dallas on Frontier Airlines before realising she had contracted Ebola.
