Amber Joy Vinson, the second nurse in Texas to contract Ebola, told health officials that she had a fever before she boarded a flight from Cleveland to Dallas, but they gave her permission to fly, CNN reported.

The 29-year-old, who had treated the Dallas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, told the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that she had a temperature of 99.5 Fahrenheit (37.5 Celsius) before boarding the flight on October 13 but she was not advised to stay put, a federal source said.

The CDC's temperature threshold is 100.4F and "she was not told not to fly," the source said.
