Dave Lee Travis 'mortified' over conviction

Disgraced DJ Dave Lee Travis, who was given a suspended jail sentence for indecent assault at Southwark Crown Court, said he was "mortified" and "really disappointed" over his conviction but again criticised his prosecution.

I have always been worried, as have my close family and friends, that if the prosecution threw enough mud at me, some of it might stick.

Whilst I am relieved that I have been able to prove that I am not a sexual predator I am mortified and really disappointed that I was convicted of one count.

And it is of little comfort to me that I was acquitted of so many others.

Those closest to me, including my wife Marian, who have been by my side all the time, we all know the truth and I am grateful for that.
