A man accused of beheading a grandmother with a machete in her back garden has refused to appear via video link at the Old Bailey.
25-year-old Nicholas Salvadore is accused of killing Palmira Silva in the garden of her home in Nightingale Road in Edmonton last Thursday.
A 25-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of a grandmother in north London.
Palmira Silva, 82, was found dead in her back garden in Edmonton on Thursday after apparently being beheaded.
Nicholas Salvador refused to confirm his identity in court and was remanded in custody until Tuesday when he will appear at the Old Bailey.
He also faces a charge of assaulting a police officer.
