Islamic State leader calls for jihad in audio message

The leader of the Islamic State, formerly Isis, has released the first audiotape calling for jihad since the group renamed. The group is currently battling Iraqi forces across large parts of the country.

Saddam Hussein's daughter 'happy with Iraq victories'

The oldest daughter of Saddam Hussein said she was "very happy" about the Islamist militants gaining control over several cities and towns inside Iraq.

Speaking to London-based newspaper Al Quds Al Aabi, Raghad Saddam Hussein said:

"I am very happy with the victories were achieved by my father’s men.”

She credited former Saddam aide Izzat al Douri, reportedly linked to a group of former Iraqi army officers and Ba'athists who joined Islamic militants in their battle to take over Mosul.
