The parents of murdered teenager Georgia Williams have said they are "sickened" by news that her killer Jamie Reynolds is to appeal.

Steve and Lynette Williams told the Shropshire Star they learned of the news in a letter from the Crown Prosecution Service, and will attend the appeal hearing in London.

Mr Williams, a detective constable with West Mercia Police, told the newspaper: "We thought that was the end. But now it's almost like there's a new trial coming up. It makes you feel sick. It's started all the worrying again. It makes you feel angry and it devalues Georgia's life."

Prosecutor David Crigman QC told Stafford Crown Court in December that Reynolds had carried out a "scripted, sadistic and sexually-motivated murder" and planned the killing meticulously.
