After fans paid a poignant tribute to the 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster, the ground later erupted in celebration with Liverpool's dramatic 3-2 victory over Manchester City.
Liverpool fans remember Hillsborough at Anfield
Liverpool fans held up pieces of card spelling out a giant 96 in Anfield's famous Kop stand, in honour of those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.
The club's players, along with those of visitors Manchester City, also joined in a minute's silence before the game kicked off.
