Tom Cruise refuses to quash Top Gun 2 movie rumours

Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise has point blank refused to quash rumours of a second Top Gun movie.

Speaking to ITV News on whether there was a new movie planned, he said: "I have no idea. Sometimes it just takes time.

"It's a matter of when things come together. Sometimes films that you have worked on for many, many years...

"I have had films that I have worked on for years and years and finally the right piece has come together and you feel that it's going to be something that is exciting."

Pressed on whether a sequel could work so long after the first movie, Cruise said: "You don't know." The original 1986 film told the story of US Navy elite fighter weapons school students competing to be best in their class.
