Police: No new findings in Kurt Cobain death
A US detective has re-examined the police investigation into the death of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and came across no new findings, police said today.
Some media reports had suggested the case into the rocker's death, which took place 20 years ago next month, was to be re-opened.
“He [Seattle cold-case detective] dug up the files and had another look and there was nothing new,” Seattle Police spokeswoman Renee Witt told The Seattle Times.
New photographs uncovered during the re-examination of the 27-year-old's suicide will be released by police next month, she said, adding that police will also answer questions on the anniversary of his death.
Cobain shot himself inside his home on Lake Washington Boulevard in the city. He was found on April 8, 1994, but a police investigation found that he had committed suicide three days before.
