Isabella Sorley, 23, has been sentenced to 12 weeks in jail and John Nimmo, 25 has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail - both with immediate effect - for subjecting high profile feminist campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez to online abuse.
Earlier this month the pair pleaded guilty to sending menacing tweets following Criado-Perez's campaign to ensure a woman featured on British bank notes.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
