US calls for convoys to Homs where 'people are starving'

The United States has called on the Syrian government to allow convoys into Homs, where "people are starving". America added that the evacuation of women and children from the city was "not sufficient."

Senior Assad aide: 'We are ready to talk to opposition'

A senior adviser to President Assad has told ITV News that the Syrian government is prepared to talk with the opposition, but added that their side "wasn't ready".

Bouthaina Shaaban, who is also a member of the negotiating team, told ITV News Middle East Correspondent Geraint Vincent: "We are ready to sit face to face to do anything that serves Syria. We are servants of Syria."
