American Hustle and Gravity lead the Oscar nominations with 10 each. British films Philomena and 12 Years A Slave, directed by Londoner Steve McQueen, are both nominated for the best picture Oscar.
American Hustle and Gravity lead the Oscar nominations with 10 each. British films Philomena and 12 Years A Slave, directed by Londoner Steve McQueen, are both nominated for the best picture Oscar.
Receiving nine Oscar nominations for 12 Years A Slave is a "testament to all our hard work", British director Steve McQueen told the Hollywood Reporter.
McQueen said: "I'm extraordinarily happy for all the cast and crew of our 12 Years a Slave family. This has been an amazing ride, and to receive nine nominations from the Academy is testament to all of the hard work. And for that I am truly grateful."
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
