Chinese doctor jailed for trafficking seven babies
A Chinese doctor has been given a suspended death sentence after being found guilty of trafficking seven babies.
Suspended death sentences usually become life sentences in China.
Zhang Shuxia, who worked in north-west China's Shaanxi Province, was found to have sold the babies to human traffickers after telling their parents the children were seriously ill and should be given up.
Six of the seven children have been reunited with their parents but one of the babies died.
Chinese CCTV showed footage of police rescuing a trafficked infant from its buyers in August.
Five other suspects have been detained in connection with the case.
