Matthew McConaughey picks up best actor award

Matthew McConaughey has won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama for his role as a homophobic cowboy who is diagnosed with AIDS in "Dallas Buyers Club".

McConaughey, who plays Ron Woodroof in the biographical film about a man dying of AIDS who smuggles medication into America, said the film "was never about dying, always about living".
