Dr Abbas Khan's family have released a statement via their solicitor, announcing plans for his funeral and burial.
Dr Abbas Khan's funeral prayer will take place at midday on Boxing Day at Regent's Park Mosque, London.
Dr Khan will then be taken to Ilford, east London, to be laid to rest. Anyone who wishes to pay their respects is welcome to attend.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
